Bugs This   gallery   has   images   of   insects,   most   of   these   have   been   found   in   local   parks   and   Lavender   fields which   goes   to   show   the   variety   of   life   that   is   to   be   found   if   you   just   go   out   and   search   for   it,   I   have   tried   to provide accurate descriptions where possible but I am no entomologist!
Soldier Beetle Alighting A   sunny   day   in   the   local   lavender   fields   is   always good    for    bug    hunting,    here    a    soldier    beetle    is caught at the point of take-off.
Ants I   found   this   small   group   of   ants   busying   themselves with   some   aphids   they   had   hidden   among   young nettle leaves
Scorpion Fly
Leaf Beetle (Mirror Bug) on Lavender These   are   the   bugs   that   look   like   emerald   jewels in   the   sunlight   and   are   very   pretty   when   seen close   up,   unfortunately   they   are   a   serious   pest   to lavender   so   visitors   to   our   local   lavender   fields are encouraged to ‘terminate’ any they find.
Fly Meleria Omissa
Green Beetle Oedemera nobilis
Ichneumon Amblyteles armatorius These   chaps   are   rather   frustrating   as   they   don’t hang    about    for    long,    this    one    was    caught clambering about upside down
Dragonfly A late summer dragonfly
Harvestmen These    chaps    appear    late    summer/autumn    and can   be   quite   hard   to   get   pictures   of   as   they   can move    remarkably    quickly    on    ridiculously    flimsy legs
Lacewing
